FluxBB was a fork of PunBB but it's no longer being maintained unfortunately. Here's what the support forum used to look like before it was shut down.

Re: Open Source vs. Premoum Software Nomad 03/20/2026 12:14 AM
If you are using premium forum software and if you have quite a few forums, I think you will be spending a lot of money running your forum, right. I have two forums on Xenforo. I have to pat $120 annually for just software renewal. Thankfully, I have monetized my forum and I manage to cover all my expenses.

Re: Forum Spark Nomad 03/20/2026 12:11 AM
I did not know about Forum Spark until Cedric took control over it and started promoting. I don't have a forum yet but I am on a few forum spark powered communities and I think the free hosting platform is a great service. if you are a hobbyist, you should certainly try it.

Re: SEO for beginners Nomad 03/20/2026 12:08 AM
It is not complicated. The beginners should focus on just two things, one create high quality content on unique topics and two, target moderately searched keywords.

Yes, organic traffic is declining, thanks to zero click searches, search engine push of AI overview and proliferation of AI chatbots.

Have you ever ran a merch store on your website (forum or blog)? It is really easy to integrate merch store through services like Printify or Printful.

Re: What's a forum you wanted to create, but didn't? Nomad 03/20/2026 12:04 AM
I have also wanted to create an admin forum, which I haven't created yet. I am on a a few admin forums and most of these forums miss discussion on technical side of administrative work, so my idea behind admin forum is to fill that gap

You know it makes me wonder just how popular PunBB used to be. Back in the day it was better since it's a lightweight forum software so it takes up less space on a server. I bet lots of people were using it. I know there's one semi active forum that Jason shared on Hosting Chatter, it's a guitar chord forum.

Re: RE: Jobs Ravenfreak 03/16/2026 7:46 PM
I currently work for US Bank. I know I mentioned that the factory job wasn't too bad, but on hot days it was absolutely miserable. Not to mention towards the end my supervisors basically defended this guy who was a setup guy and was rude to everyone. They're excuse was he was retiring soon so we didn't have to put up with him much longer still that rubbed me the wrong way. I've been at US Bank for a year and a few months now. It'll be my two year anniversary in October. I love this job!
