Zippy Promotion Forums Active Threads

I mainly run my websites as a hobby. I like being able to be in control of a community and being able to post about whatever I want without worries about my posts being deleted, plus I love sharing information about my favorite subjects. It would be cool if I could possibly earn some cash for my websites, but I haven't been able to do so.

Picture this, you have a member posting about how they got banned from another forum. They are upset and they are saying terrible things about the staff of the other forum they are banned on. How do you deal with this situation? Do you let them vent their frustrations, or do you ban them and delete the thread? I would ban the member and lock the thread, probably move the thread to the trash.

Do you prefer the old school vibe that we have here on Zippy Promotion or do you prefer a more modern layout? I like the old school vibe better, modern is cool too but that's one of the reasons why I went with UBB Threads for Zippy Promotion.

I agree with Shawn, gaming and general discussion forums are pretty saturated. It's funny since I have a general discussion forum and a gaming one that's specifically for role playing games. I have fun making and running forums like these. I think for a while Webmaster and Promotional forums were saturated, but honestly I feel like we can't have enough of those these days. That's why Zippy promotion exists!

I've never done this on any of my forums before. I did have a VIP group on a Sonic forum I used to own but you didn't need to pay to be promoted, you just needed to reach a certain number of posts.

I have never sold a forum before. Sounds like you got a good deal on your forum though! I have thought about selling Blue Hedgehog which is a Sonic blog, but I don't think I will I want to keep the files and database just in case I want to revive it again in the future.

I've used a few different hosts throughout the years. I've used 000webhost, x10 hosting, Freehosting.com, and Infinity Free. Those are the free self hosted ones I've used, for paid hosting I've used Knownhost, Hostgator, Nixihost, Digital Ocean, OVHCloud, Ionos, and Hostinger. So far overall I say for shared hosting Hostinger is the best one. I never had issues with the platform and the prices have always been reasonable.

Yeah installing Discourse and NodeBB can be a bit challenging especially if you're not familiar with Linux. Flarum is similar to Discourse and NodeBB, though it's written in php so you can install it on a shared host or sign up for free flarum.

I never used a dedicated server before, all my websites have been hosted on shared hosting. Though if you have a website that handles sensitive information then having a dedicated server is a must.

I typically have a pouch of tuna, some chips, fruit or applesauce and a soda for lunch at work. At home it depends on what I have, usually just some ramen though since my wife is allergic to seafood so I don't like eating tuna in front of her.

Do you ever get the urge to make a new forum even when you have a few different ones? I am currently dealing with this right now, I have the urge to make a forum for platformers since I have a community for roleplaying games. But I think I'm just going to try and focus on the communities I have already created. What do you do when you get this urge?

I prefer Joomla to Wordpress myself. I'm currently using Joomla for a couple different websites but I've been wanting to try out Ghost since it's part of the fediverse and can be connected with other Fediverse websites. Wordpress is a bit difficult to navigate in the ACP, I find Joomla to be easier to work with.

Wordpress is the ideal platform for creating blogs, but there are a lot of platforms for blogs. Eben though I use wordpress for my blogs sometimes I try to experiment. I have tried Ghost and Hugo for blogs. Apart from Wordpress, have you tried any other CMS for your blogs?

Those who have kids, do you find parenting very difficult? I have two kids, one 8 years old and another 6 years old. Kids are my source of happiness but sometimes they get into my nerves and I find parenting very challenging.

Weather was warming up but yesterday there was a heavy rainfall, hopefully temperature will cool down for a few days. We can't open windows here, the air pollution is very high.

Our weather has been nice here lately. We got some rain the other day but it's been in the 60's and the sun has been out. We currently have our windows opened at the moment to get some fresh air.

Dedicated Server costs more than VPS and little less than Cloud hosting. I haven't used it, I would have tried if I was trying to run a site where I need security, for example, collecting user data like payment information, etc. Have you ever used dedicated Server?

I have used MyBB, based on my experience with other open sources like SMF and phpBB, I think MyBB was little outdated. What do you say?

Hosting is a good business model but getting customers is certainly difficult in the times where popular web hosts are offering services for cheaper price and better service.

I am on VPS at the moment. I moved to VPS after using shared hosting for many years. I upgraded when I started running multiple forums and my activity levels increased.

Yeah, cloud hosting is pricey. I have also used unmanaged VPS. But I found it technically challenging for someone like me who does not have technical skills

I haven't run a dating site either but I once had a relationship blog where I published articles on dating and relationship. It used to get a good traffic, earned little revenue for me. I then sold it via Flippa

I have heard of Vanila but never seen what it looks like, let alone using it. I don't think I have ever been on a forum running in Flarum as well. Discourse and NodeBB both looks nice but using them looks little complicated.

Well we have a package service now lol. I was hoping someone would have requested one by now but maybe I need to look into to promote the site? Maybe UBB Threads wasn't the best platform to have a promotional forum on lol.

I haven't used cloud hosting before, I think it's a bit out of my price range as well. I have used a VPS once before, but it was unmanaged.
