Have any of you used Simple Machine Forum software at all?

I used to use it and enjoyed it very much. In fact, if I were to use free software again, it would likely be SMF. It's mobile responsive and simple.

What do you all think about SMF?

I currently use SMF for Gex Forums! I like it, IMO it's the best free software. My co admin, Twitchismental created a few themes for the software and he even updated one of his own themes for Gex Forums.

I don't have any experience with Simple Machine Forum software.

How does it compare to Forumotion, Proboards, and Jcink?

There's a service called "Createaforum" that is similar to Forumotion, Proboards, and Jcink. Meaning you can try out SMF without having to install anything. If you want to check it out here's their hosting, since it's a different platform than what those three offer there will be some differences you'll have to get used to when using the platform.

The last general discussion forum I put together ran off of SMF. It was pretty good overall.

I finally got the chance to use it this year when a friend of mine and I created an AI forum. It has its limitations as all free platforms to. I really miss not having a "New Posts" to click on though!! Today I actually got to ban my first spammer and it was really easy, but I also miss Spam Clean.

The software looks really good and I'd definitely use it again!
