Most employers allow their employees a 30 minute lunch break.

Do you think this enough time?

Should we get longer lunch breaks?

How long should a lunch break be?

Would you like having a 2 or 3 hour break in the middle of your work day?

I think a 30-minute lunch break in an 8-hour shift is acceptable, with two 15-minute breaks to go with it. Taking a break every 2 hours sounds proper to me.

By law some states in the US force employers to give employees 30 minutes...and my previous boss told me I couldn't work through that time either, that I had to take the 30 minutes of the company would get into trouble.

I think 30 minutes isn't enough if you go out for lunch, but 60 is perfect and maybe even a bit too much. I usually brought my lunch and ate in the cafeteria with my co-worker friend most days. If we were forced to take the 30 minutes, then we took the full 30 minutes.

Yeah I think 30 minutes is enough time. I used to work at Walmart and they gave us an hour for lunch but I felt like that was a bit too long. Since we got an hour lunch, we had to work an "extra" 30 minutes to make up for the extra 30 minutes of lunch. At my previous job we only had 10 minute breaks and 30 minutes for lunch but I think the 10 minutes wasn't enough especially since we worked 10 hour shifts.

Where I work, we get an hour for lunch and two 15 minute breaks.

Where my hubby works, just just gets a 30 minute lunch and no breaks (that's if he works an 8 hour shift). They get paid for 8 hours but he only works 7 1/2 hours though. If he stays for an extra 2 hours to make it a 10 hour shift then they'll let him have an extra break that's 10-15 minutes long.
