I think forums will always be around. Hopefully some day they will experience a renaissance. Hopefully people who once used forums will decide to make a return to the forum community in large numbers and their families who they talked about forums with decides to comes with them. A lot of people could exit social media due to the high toxicity on those platforms and discover forums for themselves. Who knows? People are still finding and joining forums. After all, so did we.
Exactly so I'm very hopeful that forums will become popular again. I don't know how many times I've seen people say "I miss forums" and I always tell them they never went away they're still here lol. I brought this up in the official Sonic discord server last night.
