I was browsing on Reddit one day and someone brought up that they were tired of social media and wish there were places they could go to on the internet. I mentioned forums and someone brought up that all forums are toxic. I can see why they think this, they probably think of a forum like Kiwi Farms or Tattle Talk who are both notoriously toxic forums that target people and mock them. However we all know that's not the case! I think they also might view forums as toxic because the admins can run them how they please and maybe they don't like the content on the forum. Anyways do you truly think forums are toxic? I think social media is much more toxic than forums.

It depends on how well the owner, along with the staff, manages the forum. If the forum is pretty well managed then I don't see the forum is toxic. A forum can get toxic if the forum isn't managed or if the staff are also part of the problem.

I definitely agree with you there. If the owner or staff treat members like garbage I wouldn't want to join the forum.

I've not seen forums as any more toxic than certain Facebook Groups and all the bullying cliques there.

I think Facebook is a bit more toxic than forums lol. I found it odd that someone would say that about forums though.
