Zippy Promotion Forums The Landing Page Suggestions and Bug Reports Known Bugs

I know of two bugs that I can't seem to fix since I've converted the forum from MyBB. In order for me to convert to UBB Threads I had to convert the forum from MyBB over to phpBB3.1. Then I was able to convert to UBB Threads 7.5.7, then upgrade to the newest version. Somewhere in that process, I'm guessing when I converted it from MyBB to phpBB, extra members that were search engine bots were added to the forum. This I'm assuming caused the member IDs to get scrambled up, so now I've noticed the "in reply to" button shows the incorrect username. This doesn't seem to be a problem on mobile though, or at least in threads I've created since converting over to UBB Threads.

Another bug that has appeared is a few stickied threads show up in the database, but won't display properly on the forums themselves. Interestingly enough the thread count on the index shows the correct number of threads that should appear, they just won't show up in the forum. I had to repost the rules thread as well as the "Members+ Explained" thread. So the post count is probably going to look weird, I probably just need to delete the old threads from the database to fix this problem. Still I wanted to bring this up in case someone else does lol. I probably should bring this issue up to the devs on UBB Threads.

Edit: I found another bug I forgot to mention. If you want to unsubscribe from a thread, you have to click on the thread and click the bookmark icon to unsubscribe from it. For some reason I get a 500 error if I try to unsubscribe from the index page. I should probably bring this bug up too.

Now I'm running into an issue getting the avatars folder to be written to... I guess I'll try linking an image instead for now...
Edit: Yeah looks like for now we'll all have to just use avatars from outside the forum. I added my avatar to my site's folder, added the url and it worked.

Also another known bug, well I don't know if it counts but since I can't get emails setup properly, I have to manually change passwords for existing accounts so if you were a member previously I will change your password. You'll have to unfortunately contact me elsewhere to change your password for you.

I came across another issue lol. I need to log into my hosting account since apparently I can't move threads. Which isn't good since our service team will need to be able to move threads. I suppose after moving from one platform to another and finally to UBB threads issues were going to arise. I wanted to be transparent with everyone which is why I'm listing these bugs!

Just wanted to post an update on this, I will be looking into fixing the email issues for sure. Not sure how to fix the move threads bug, but I might do a fresh install of 8.0 then apply the 8.0.1 patch on a new forum and see if it's a issue with the patch or if it's just an issue with Zippy Promotion. I also need to figure out why the website is loading slow in Brave, and not Firefox. I know Brave is a chromium browser... I guess I should test it out in other chromium browsers too. It could be my internet though.

Yeah it goes slow on my phone but not my laptop and both use Chrome 🤷‍♀️

One of the staff members on UBB Threads signed up and I made him an Admin so he can help me with the bugs. So hopefully soon we can get to the bottom of these bugs.

I'm happy to report that Ruben has fixed the issues we were having! You should all be able to upload your own avatar now, and for moderators threads should be able to be moved. I'm going to keep this thread open just in case someone finds another bug. Big shout out to Ruben, you rock!
