Debate question: Are ride-hailing companies a benefit to society?

Why or why not?

I believe they are a benefit to society. They provide jobs for people who wish to work on their own time, and they provide a great service for those who need rides for various reasons.

Beneficial for those who need them.

I've never used one myself.

Ridesharing companies are a benefit to the society because they offer cheaper rates compared to a taxi or any kind of car rental service (at least in my home country), and there is a less chances of being abused by the driver.
