Are your forums family friendly or do they have NSFW content? Well, I do not like NSFW content, I always run a forum or blog that have family friendly content. Well, my forums and blogs aren't targeted towards underage people but still I want "safe" content on my forums.

I'd rather stay family friendly in terms of the content I allow on the forums.

However, to avoid legal and liability issues, I do require members to be at least 18 or over. I think allowing those under 18 these days is asking for trouble.

Social platforms are now dealing with the consequences of it. Forums will be next.

I think that is a safe practice. There are a lot of consequences for allowing minors on online platforms. However, I use 13 years as minimum age because that's the standard practive on most online platforms.

But in most cases, you're responsible for anyone who is a minor on your website. If you allow children on it, you're responsible for them. That's why I recommend folks up the age limit to 18 just to be safe. It's not the same internet today as it was in 2010.
