I regularly build backlinks, post fresh/unique content, and I check Google Analytics/Search Console every few weeks. Reddit is one of my favorite sites for link building.

How do you work on SEO for your forum?

Unless you are creating topics with search intent or hiring SEO expert to create topics, I do not see much room for SEO on forums. SEO is harder to do on user generated content site like forums

Do the basics.

SEO-friendly titles, descriptions, technical SEO (like speed, https, etc.)

You can create content with SEO in mind, but don't expect your members to do it, as well. If you try to force it on them, they might get turned off and quit being active on your forum.

Forum SEO is almost impossible.

Embrace it. Focus on community instead of search engines.
