if there are any plugins you think we are missing please let me know about them here! I'm thinking about installing Newpoints if we do end up having a service team, though it looks like the plugin is no longer being worked on sadly.

A point system might be handy if you are going to offer different services.

I might have to risk using Newpoints, I don't believe there are any other point system for MyBB. It's a shame the developers no longer work on plugins for MyBB, but I guess they moved on to bigger and better things lol.

The last time I tested it which was a couple months ago it still worked perfectly fine. But yeah I agree. I think because the developers of the software are living in the old times that the people who used to develop themes and add-ons have chosen to go to software like Xenforo.

Is there a list of plugins somewhere we can view?

I'm not to familiar with MyBB plugins. I was going to mention  a points/credits type system, but looks like its been mentioned.

To be fair, that's where the money is. I'm not saying this is the case all of the time, but more often than not, people who choose free forum software is because they don't want to be paying for things or can't afford to. Then theres those that choose to go the free forum software route so they can use that money towards the premium plugins and themes.

It's hard for third party developers to make a decent amount of income off if selling premium plugins and themes for a product that is free. You go to places like IPB, and XenForo, you have a better chance to make a sale, as the user base is quite different.

Think of the "Apple tax" if you will :P

I'll install Newpoints tomorrow then and see if it works properly. I would have gone with Xenforo for Zippy Promotion (and might convert later) but right now I don't have the money to purchase a new license. So that's why I went with MyBB. :P Here's a list of plugins for MyBB:
