There are quite a few different forum software you can choose from, but which one is your favorite and why? I love Woltlab and I also enjoy using Xenforo, SMF and phpBB. My first forum was on Forumotion, using phpBB. I know it can be a bit difficult to get the permissions set up correctly especially if you're new to using the software but once you get the hang of setting things up it's great!
What's your favorite forum software?

MyBB. If only they had a theme that is responsive by default.
I have given up on 1.9. Not going to happen.
I like Xenforo and MyBB. Used to like SMF, but they have not done much to it in a while.
I have loved Xenforo ever since I started using it just as a member. I haven't used it as an administrator (yet at least), but the features, add-ons, atmosphere, etc. are all just too awesome!
Anything that works is fine. XF has a lot of fans. Invision too has its share of admirers. They do not use anything else.
There are neutral webmasters too who do things that suit the best for them. They use anything, from phpBB to Vanilla.
I'm hooked on Invision, which is what my 2 communities are using. I started with freeware called Phorum and when I realized the development of that software was dead in the water I knew we had to jump ship. I looked for who had the most supported and active development and it was a tough decision at the time between Xenforo and Invision but I chose Invision. I am glad that I did, because they are still taking the lead when it comes to security, innovation, and keeping up with the latest leading community software - which is definitely NOT Xenforo, Woltlab, nor VBulletin.
CarnivoreTalk.com - An Animal-Based Diet Community, with a Podcast and YouTube channel coming soon.
XenForo. It’s so much better than every other forum software, in my opinion. MyBB was once my favourite but it is outdated now and doesn’t seem like a significant update is coming any time soon either.
XenForo
Although, the new IPB looks really good!! Will it be enough to get me to switch? I guess I will have to see how XenForo 2.3 and 3.0 looks.
XenForo and it not even close
